The Comprehensive Guide to Effective Vent Seal Solutions
“How do I seal a vent?” sounds simple until you realize the answer changes with the system. Sealing an HVAC duct leak is not the same job as repairing a dryer exhaust joint, and neither is the same as fixing a bathroom fan duct. Accessible HVAC duct sealing commonly uses materials made for that job, such as mastic or approved foil-backed products. Regular cloth duct tape is not a universal fix just because it has “duct” in the name.
Dryer exhaust has its own requirements because the inside of the run needs to stay smooth enough to carry lint and hot, damp air outdoors. If a dryer vent connection keeps coming loose, or a section is crushed or damaged, the right answer may be a real dryer vent repair instead of adding more tape. Internal duct coatings and sealants offered during air duct cleaning are another subject and should not be confused with repairing a leaking connection.
Ventworks does not perform every kind of duct-sealing project. We do provide air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, and dryer vent repair around Hillsboro, Beavercreek, and the wider service area.
